  • 1st
    James Bowen

    Age 5

ANALYSIS: Tracked leader until 13th, handy 3rd, went 2nd again before next, challenged 4 out, led next, battled on gamely run-in
  • 2nd
    G Sheehan

    Age 7 TT

    3/4 L
ANALYSIS: Raced keenly, made all, not fluent 7th, strongly pressed from 4 out, headed next, ridden between last two, stayed on well run-in, not reach winner
  • 3rd
    S Bowen

    Age 7

    3/4 L
ANALYSIS: Raced in 4th, went right 4th and next, dropped to last pair, rallied before 4 out, driven and stayed on well in 3rd run-in, not pace to challenge
  • 4th
    Sam Twiston-Davies

    Age 7 TT CP

    1 1/2 L
ANALYSIS: Held up in last pair, gained a place 5th, pushed along and outpaced out wide after 4 out, rallied before next, 4th and no impression from 2 out
  • 5th
    Phillip Armson

    Age 8

    20 L
ANALYSIS: Raced in 3rd, went 2nd 5th until after 13th, chased leaders, weakened before 3 out, tailed off
  • 6th
    James Best

    Age 5

    18 L
ANALYSIS: Went to post early and unruly start, held up in last pair, headway on heels of leaders 4 out, weakened quickly before next, tailed off
VERDICT: Village Master made most of the running when victorious by four lengths in a class 5 event at Cartmel on his latest outing and he was hit with a 9lb rise. Warren Greatrex's five-year-old has an unbeaten record over fences in four starts and he could prove very difficult to beat. Jigginstown King finished third in a stronger contest than this over 3m5f at Fakenham and the drop in trip shouldn't pose him any problems, while Masterdream makes most appeal of the remainder.
