VERDICT: A first-time tongue-tie could help Earls start his new campaign with a bang. Gavin Cromwell's six-year-old was denied a fifth consecutive victory when short of room at Naas, but he's just 3lb above his last winning mark and can resume his progression. Jon Riggens rounded out 2022 with second placings at Navan and in the Naas race in which the selection struck trouble, and he can play a hand. Downforce and Laugh A Minute are previous winners of this sprint and are others to bear in mind.
