VERDICT: There is little to choose between Engagement Ring and Marvelosa on running behind River Rain over C&D last week and slight preference is given to the Richard O'Brien-trained filly on overall form. She showed promise on a number of occasions also over 1m4f including behind White Caviar in a Listowel maiden that has worked out well since. Banned was bought out of Hughie Morrison's yard for 35,000 guineas this summer and it will interesting to see how strong she is in the market after a four month absence. Nel had Reginalds Tower about three lengths behind last time but those places may be reversed over this longer trip.
