VERDICT: Tides Of War made the most of a lenient mark to land a competitive contest over this trip at Goodwood last time. A 4lb rise may not be enough to anchor David Simcock's charge now he's got his head back in front. Fairbanks finished in front of Bague D'or when sixth in the Duke Of Edinburgh at Royal Ascot, although the latter is a C&D winner and is fancied to turn the tables, while Fox Journey disappointed at Ascot but it's too soon to write him off.
