VERDICT: Last year's St Leger third Desert Hero returned with an excellent second in the Gordon Richards at Sandown last month and he can get back to winning ways over a more adequate trip. Salt Bay finished within a neck of the classy Hamish in the John Porter over C&D last time out and that appears to be a level of form that brings him firmly into the picture. Bolster has a bit to find on official ratings, but the son of Invincible Spirit was comfortably on top in a Pontefract handicap 26 days ago, and could have more to offer for his new yard.
