VERDICT: Baltray was beaten a length by Cape Vidal on these terms in a novice hurdle here back in the autumn, but comprehensively went one better subsequently and can improve past his rival. He does have an absence to overcome on his handicap debut, though, whereas Jolyjump was out only last week when runner-up to a well-handicapped odds-on favourite at Fakenham. He can go one better off the same mark, with Hecouldbetheone just about the pick of the remaining three.
