VERDICT: Alex Chadwick got a great tune out of Mermaids Cave here last week, with the James Owen-trained mare justifying favouritism with the minimum of fuss. She has been raised 9lb so is well-in under her penalty and can take full advantage. Mac Be Lucky was hot on the heels of a subsequent winner when third at Chepstow so has to be considered a player. Jumping has proved the undoing of Gorcombe Moonshine over fences, but he is worth a look back in this sphere.
