VERDICT: Thrown in at the deep end on his hurdles bow at Punchestown in Grade 1 company, Backmersackme shaped well for a long way before a mistake two out put paid to his chances. This represents a significant drop in grade for the point-to-point winner and he should have too much for the returning Pray Tell, who has not been in action since a strong runner-up effort at Cork over 3m1f last May. Cadoudal Saint looks like one who will improve for going up in trip, while the consistent Driscolls Hill is capable of being in the shake-up again.
