VERDICT: Tiger Bay Queen hasn't run since winning a Listed bumper in April 2023 and is fragile, but her novice status might have been preserved for this fresh new season, which is encouraging. She has clearly had training issues and indeed returned from 436 days off to win at Fairyhouse, but is just a six-year-old and can do well over hurdles. Russellsbelle has a race-fitness edge and ran well at Tramore recently. She will be suited by drying ground and today she again receives weight from previous winners, but should struggle to beat an on-song selection. Smiling Bess is out of a Grade 1-placed mare and while her recent form is on testing ground, has form on yielding.
