VERDICT: Although this race is most likely a prep prior to returning to chasing at Punchestown next month, Donkey Years catches the eye off his hurdles mark. The Eric McNamara-trained 10-year-old had somewhat lost his way over fences when last seen but has to be of interest in this discipline off just 116. With the festival just weeks away, the J.P. McManus-owned gelding is unlikely to be found wanting in terms of fitness. Bestaline also has to enter calculations in first-time blinkers. The Gordon Elliott-trained mare is almost certainly better than her bare form suggests, so perhaps the change in headgear will see her in a better light. Tranquil Sea undoubtedly has the ability to feature but Paul Nolan's four-year-old needs to brush up on his jumping in order to do so.
