VERDICT: Charlie Appleby has a formidable strike-rate with his two-year-olds this season and his well-bred Cannon Rock can't be discounted. However, Power Of Gold was very popular in the betting on his debut when runner-up at Ayr last month and looks sure to to have learned plenty from that experience. He was just over two lengths behind Hi Royal on that occasion, having looked green, and appeared to get the hang of things late on. Any market confidence behind the Simon and Ed Crisford-trained newcomer Bolster could be significant.
