VERDICT: Alfie Boy was in command when defeating Hostelry (second) at Beverley recently and, if arriving in a similar mood today, he ought to hold every chance of defying the 5lb penalty for that success. The latter is expected to keep him honest, though, but a bigger threat might come from Braes Of Doune. Jim Goldie's gelding shaped with promise on his return to action at Doncaster on Saturday and appears likely to enter calculations.
