VERDICT: Smart Charger saw the trip out well to get up narrowly over C&D last month and may have more to give with his stamina now proven. With first-time cheekpieces added on just his third start for the the Alan King yard, a 3lb higher mark might not be enough to prevent him from following up. Placated and Hill Spirit have both done well over this trip on the all-weather of late and are other solid contenders for consideration.
