VERDICT: Both Tiaraqueen and Apocalyx made promising debuts last year but failed to build on those efforts on their next starts. The former makes most appeal of that pair, but Transitioning looks a safer proposition. Andrew Balding's charge won at Doncaster with plenty left in the tank on debut last month and may well defy a 7lb penalty. Spring Festival is a half-brother to an Italian Derby winner, while Thunder Run and Fox Spirit are other newcomers to note.
