VERDICT: Spirited Dancer sets the standard on her debut second at Kempton but she was disappointing over 5f here last time. Therefore, it looks best to concentrate on the newcomers, with Karl Carlston appealing most. He is a half-brother to a couple of winners and represents connections that enjoy plenty of juvenile success. Tom Dascombe saddled an impressive two-year-old winner at Chester last week and his High On Hope is shortlisted, along with Steamboat and Candy.
