VERDICT: Isocrate has the form in the book having finished second on his last two starts, when beaten a head at Sandown and two lengths at Exeter over shorter. He looks all set for a big run over this trip, but may be outclassed by Fasol. Group class on the Flat in France, Paul Nicholls' gelding was fourth at Newbury over two miles on his hurdling debut but ought to be far happier upped in distance. Ideal Des Bordes is another who could get involved after his wind surgery.
