VERDICT: A steadily progressive sort last season, Manila Scouse finished a creditable fourth in 0-105 company at Doncaster in October. Eased 2lb in the ratings and dropped markedly in class ahead of his return, Tim Easterby's gelding could stamp his authority in these calmer waters. Illusionist is now 4lb higher than for his recent Ripon second but remains of interest, along with the likes of Mountain Warrior and Mythical Phoenix, who makes his debut for the Julie Camacho team.
