VERDICT: Mattice was last seen in winning action under similar conditions over C&D in September when getting the better of stablemate Count D'Orsay. However, the latter, who is now 3lb better off and has also dropped to his last winning mark, has every chance of reversing the form. Rambuso Creek finished sixth at Thirsk earlier in the month and is open to progression, while a gelding operation might spark an improved bid from Lakota Blue.
