VERDICT: In his last five starts, Spanish Light (5) has been 4th and 3rd twice before finishing 2nd in consecutive outings. He wouldn't be winning out of turn and is good value to open his account stretching out to this distance for this handicap. He will, however, have to thwart the likely challenge of top-weight The Top Gatsby (1), who will enjoy the benefit of Marlene Meyer's 1,5kg allowance, as well as Lanceur D'alerte (8) who finished 3rd here 2 starts back and is better than his most recent outing suggests.
