VERDICT: Somerset Maugham comes off a rest after a somewhat disappointing run and if fully wound up could take honours. He nosed out Han Solo over slightly longer on this course before and is 2.5kg better off. Stable companions Navy Strength (definite Trifecta chance) and Hoedspruit (needs to get his act together), as well as Baratheon and Master Redoute who drop in distance, could challenge while Gainsford is not in a good place presently.
