VERDICT: Court Royale didn't jump with the same efficiency on soft ground at Ludlow in November and the 10-year-old could prove a different proposition on this sounder surface. Ardmayle, however, makes slightly more appeal after making an encouraging return to action at Southwell when weakening late on into fourth. He's now only 1lb higher than his last success and looks capable of picking up a race of this nature. The first-time cheekpieces may eke out some improvement from Billingsley.
