Jean Ribault has shown very little in 3 starts last season as a 2-year old beating only 2 of his 30 rivals over the 3 races. However he did look like a horse that would improve from 2 to 3 years old and having been given a gelding operation he might well be a different prospect this season. It's worth noting that a couple of his siblings improved at 3 and also improved when stepped up in distance. So off a mark of just 57 a chance is taken that Jean Ribault can only now start putting his best foot forward, and if so he could be a well handicapped horse.
