At the grand age of 9 (10 next month) Dark Shot may not have the profile of a potential improver, however the old boy has served his connections well and continues to be in good enough form to take a hand in the 18:20 at Southwell. He has been kept busy this season with 19 runs so far, and although his form has been patchy he managed to register a win 2 runs back over course and distance. That run showed he still retains some enthusiasm for the game and a return to this venue could well do the trick. Running off a mark of 63 today he started the season off a mark of 80, so clearly has the ability for this kind of contest. Scott Dixon has his horses in fine form and they often run well at this local track. Dark Shot rates a 1 star each way Pick.
