Cowboy Cooper has only shown moderate form in a bunch of bumper and novice hurdle races thus far and although beaten some 44 lengths last time out at Kelso over 2m in December, he did make some moderate late progress that day. He now runs in a handicap hurdle for the first time after a break of 89 days. Connections have decided to step him up in trip for the first time to 2m4f, a move that looks like it will suit him. He gets to run off a lowly mark of 87 and having had only the 5 starts so far, a chance is taken on him improving for today's race conditions. Cowboy Cooper rates a 1 star each way Pick.
