Pon Aelius was rated as high as 83 at one stage of his career but in recent times had lost his form somewhat until his latest run at Beverly, where off a mark of 66 he managed to record his first win since June last year. He travelled really well during the race and quickened up nicely to put the race to bed. Given only a 3lb rise for that win he should be very competitive again. Pons Aelius rates a 4 star win Pick.
