Crystal Mariner showed some good form last season including when beating the now 109 rated Lion's Pride at Newcastle. He returned to action at Chester in May and ran a very good race to finish 3rd of 11. However on his next start at Sandown he was a bitter disappointment, racing wide and a shade too keen he finished a well beaten 8th of 10. That run seemed too bad to be true and now having been dropped 2lb in the handicap Crystal Mariner can get back to winning ways. He is still a lightly raced sort and has the potential to do better this season, so a chance is taken on him to bounce back. Crystal Mariner rates a 3 star win Pick.
