Alkopop remains a fairly consistent sort, winning 3 of his 13 starts under rules, but also running some good races in defeat too. He could be the answer to the 11:55 at Uttoxeter. Having progressed well over fences last term it's interesting connections are looking to exploit his hurdles mark (5lb lower) this term. He ran well for a long way on his return to action at Fontwell, only tiring late on to finish 3rd of 5 beaten 4 3/4l. That run should have put him spot on for today's race and if he can get into a good rhythm early he could be hard to pass at the end of the race. He rates a 2 star win Pick.

Rose Of Arcadia was a mare that showed plenty of early promise in her career winning a point-to-point and bumper as well as a novice hurdle in her first 5 career starts. She then took a bit of a backward step not really firing last year. Her stable sent her back to point-to-points early this year where she won both of her starts by wide margins. That seemed to have revitalised her and she returned with a win in a handicap hurdle at Chepstow in October over 2m7 1/2f. She couldn't match that form 11 days later at Wincanton when 5th of 5, however the drop back to 2m5f and the quicker ground conditions looked all against her on that occasion and run is best ignored. Back up in trip today and on slower ground she can confirm herself a really well handicapped horse at present. She rates a 3 star win Pick.
