Fighting Poet had only shown glimpses of form prior to a very good 2nd at Epsom at the start of July. He was raised 4lb for that run and the question was could he back it up? He did do so by winning over this very track and distance last time out, coming with a strong late run to win by a neck, ridden by today's jockey. Raised a further 3lb for that win, life will be tougher for Fighting Poet today, however he looks a horse in the form of his life at present, something that can't be said about too many of his rivals. If they go a good solid pace early watch for Fighting Poet to be staying on from behind best of all. Fighting Poet rates a 4 star each way Pick.
