Godsend had shown limited form last season in maiden and novice company but like so many from his stable he was always likely to improve over longer distances and in handicaps as a 3-year old. He was gelded over the winter and returned to action in June at Lingfield where he might well have needed the run. Next time out over 1m4f at Ripon he was a clear cut winner, staying on very strongly at the finish. Being able to run under a 6lb penalty means he should be very well handicapped off effectively 64 at the moment. Godsend has all the signs of another improver from his yard who could go on to rack up a sequence of wins. Godsend rates a 5 star win Pick.
