VERDICT: Speculatrix won a Punchestown bumper on debut but certainly hasn't enjoyed much luck over hurdles. The selection was set to score when falling at the last in Killarney last autumn and following two disappointing efforts, suffered another final flight exit at Navan earlier this month. The Gordon Elliott-trained mare held a slight advantage when again falling at the last in the maiden won by stablemate Swing Davis, with Magic Day beaten over 20 lengths in third. Cork bumper winner Ufouria and Billie Frechette are others to consider.
