VERDICT: My Gaffer has been disappointing in handicap company but the Malinas gelding will be sharper for last month's reappearance over C&D and may be capable of turning around form with the more exposed Dark Note. John Ryan's charge attracted market support on that first start in over seven months and a more prominent showing is anticipated now. Samui had a productive Flat campaign last year and looks well handicapped back over flights but this trip looks too short. San Aer's latest Leopardstown fourth was his best effort in this discipline while Jazzy Matty is one to keep an eye on with a tilt at the novice handicap chase at Cheltenham in March probably what his trainer is working back from.
