VERDICT: An encouraging second on his handicap debut when returning from a 344-day absence at Haydock, Beat The Bat is open to plenty of improvement and stepping up further in trip could help Harry Fry's charge go one better. A neck behind him on that occasion and 1lb worse off is the unexposed Knight Of Allen, who must be a key player, along with impressive Newbury scorer Jipcot. Third in this contest last year before returning with a taking success at Newbury, Impose Toi may prefer better ground, while Il Va De Soi and Kamsinas cannot be ruled out.
