VERDICT: Pic D'Orhy won this contest in 2023 before beating all bar subsequent King George hero Banbridge 12 months ago. The admirable 10-year-old had a simple enough task when returning to land another 1965 Chase at Ascot and connections appear to have found a similar opportunity. The ultra-progressive Martator found things happening too quickly for him in the Desert Orchid here over Christmas. The return to 2m4f is likely to aid his cause, while Hitman is a player judged on his Old Roan second.
