VERDICT: Ideally-engaged at the limit of earnings, Lord De Vandel (9) has shown very good aptitude so far and, with pads fitted for the first time, can win this. The progressive Laser Gema (11) is 25m worse off but the addition of pads could well compensate for the deficit. Winner first time out, L'as De Saint Jean (6) benefits from a front-line break and, fitted with front pads, can make up for his recent clinker. Lumiere Du Chene (14) showed her form after faulting at Vincennes recently and will have a good hand to play if she turns and keeps trotting.
