VERDICT: Darysina Gold has been in fine form this summer, gaining compensation for narrow defeats here and at Bath when breaking through at the latter venue, before again hitting the crossbar behind a very progressive filly at Chepstow. Off the same mark, Eve Johnson Houghton's charge can continue her own forward momentum, although Finn Russell will be dangerous after backing up a Carlisle triumph with a second over obstacles in Jersey. Monks Mead, Edvard Grieg and Beau Jardine are just three more to consider in a competitive opener.
