VERDICT: Golden Circet is officially 11lb wrong with Stariam, but is better suited to this distance than his rival. His form is mediocre, but he met some traffic on his Curragh handicap debut before finishing well. He is ideally suited by this distance and good ground. Stariam did finish second at this distance in today's opening race in 2023, but that was an ordinary contest and her recent form has been over longer distances. She is consistent and finished second to subsequent Ebor winner Magical Zoe in June, but might lack the selection's pace. Lohengrin's terrific Tipperary form was rather boosted by Wigmore Street winning Saturday's Irish Cambridgeshire, but he remains frustrating. Accwest showed just mild promise at Roscommon.
