VERDICT: A remarkable feat by both horse and trainer, Lord Riddiford has won the last three renewals of this race and is a must for the shortlist. However, this is a competitive edition and it may be time for the younger brigade to take centre stage, with fellow C&D winner Fair Wind suggested as the first one to consider. The form of his recent Ascot win was boosted by the runner-up scoring there on Saturday. Jm Jungle, Democracy Dilemma and Equilateral are others with strong credentials.
