VERDICT: My Friend The Wind was third over 2m4f at the June meeting here and didn't run badly when keeping on into seventh at Ballinrobe last month. His trainer rarely leaves this festival without a winner. Chief Seattle has won over hurdles and fences at Ballinrobe this summer and is holding his form well while being kept very busy. He's a dour stayer who will be played late. Chinook had Appian Way back in fifth when third at Galway but the latter, who has been a bit frustrating, might be better suited by this trip and Bryan Cooper will be hoping to pick up the pieces late in the day on him. Ceanndana was much improved in headgear when placed at Killarney and is another to consider.
